About The Author

TUNG GIEP, M.D.

Dr. Giep is a graduate of Spartanburg Day School and Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. He received his medical degree and residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina, then went on to complete his fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. His background includes board certification in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He has over 25 years of experience serving as medical director for community hospitals. He founded and served as president of Newborn Intensive Care Specialists (NICS), providing hospitals with neonatal services until the company was sold to a national company in 2017. He is currently working for a Children’s hospital on the East Coast as medical director for their community nurseries and neonatal telehealth program. Dr. Giep lives in Houston, TX with his family. He insists that writing this book has been one of the hardest things he has ever done in life.
